Notes
The earliest mention of the pub, as the Effingham Arms is from 1841. 1 of 3 pubs that used to be called Effingham Arms in Rotherham. All 3 have now changed name. The other 2 are now "The Kingfisher" and "Urban Bar And Lounge".
CAMRA'a What Pub site description states "Recently refurbished and geared towards food. also recently returned to selling real ale. The two beers tend to be from a restricted list with National brewers favoured. Stands well back from the road that leads from Rotherham to junction 35 of the M1. The lease is owned by Chris Windle's Your Friendly local Ltd, who also run the nearby Colin Sports Bar and the Sitwell Arms at Whiston."
