The building on the left is now known as 27 Blyth Road, a Grade II listed building. A few years ago it looked like the building was going to be renovated but this now seems to have been abandoned. As you can see, Blyth Road now goes straight between the 2 buildings. The "structure" behind the horse was a well.

These images shows the Crossley Memorial, placed to commemorate Dr William Crossley. He came to Maltby in the 1850s and worked as a GP before being elected as the village’s first parish council chairman in 1894. He died in a tragic accident on the night of 24th January 1900 when he was knocked down by a passing horse-drawn trap.
The memorial had to be moved to its current position due to the redevelopment of the area (believed to be the re-alignment of Blyth Road) and many years of neglect left it looking as it does in the 2nd image. The monument was repaired and re-dedictated in 2011.
