The bridge to the left went to St Anns flats before they where demolished. St Anns flats only stood for 20 years being built in 1967 and demolished in 1987.
Current plans are that the flyover will be removed as part of the plan to create a new Tesco store at Walker Place. UPDATE: December 2013. The flyover has now been demolished.

Looking across St Anns Road towards the old St Anns Boys School. The wall to the left is for what was previously St Stephen's Church which is now called St Antony's Church.

"A shocking event, awful in the consequences, occurred in St Anns Road Rotherham on Wednesday afternoon. Five children crushed against a wall by a run away motor lorry. Two were killed almost right out and two died in the Rotherham Hospital late in the afternoon of Thursday." Read more about the tragedy at www.moorgatecemetery.org.uk
